In Her Honour Planners
I absolutely love planners. Even though many of us have moved on to using our laptops or tablets for tracking our daily activities, I just love putting pen to paper. Nothing beats a satisfying check mark as I knock something off my to-do list.
One of my best friends here in Johannesburg, Joyce Lopepe, came out with her own range of planners. Now, if you don’t know Joyce (you should follow her on Instagram if you don’t already), then let me tell you that she is highly motivated, extremely organized, and has amazing attention to detail (while keeping up with the latest trends from fashion to event planning).
About In Her Honour
In fact, all of her friends think Joyce is so organized that after developing a planner for her personal use to help her juggle her law degree, work, and content creation, she had so much interest from her friends who wanted the very same planner. So, she set to work creating one of her lifelong dreams: In Her Honour.
Hi, Joyce!
“In Her Honour” is a phrase that Joyce used to motivate herself throughout her creative process. Her work and efforts are all actions that she’s doing for herself, in her own honour. What better name for Joyce’s own company?
In Her Honour planners came out last year, but with a newly developed website, I wanted to share just how lovely these planners are. Whether you need them for yourself or as a gift (they are a popular click on my Gifts from SA post), you’re not only honoring yourself and your goals, but also supporting a small business from a local Joburger.
Planners are around R300.
In Her Honour Planners
The planners will keep you motivated throughout the year—I speak from experience. In Her Honour’s current range includes three planners.
Weekly Power Planner
My absolute favorite is the Weekly Power Planner. This is an un-dated planner that includes weekly and daily organization. There are also note pages and motivational quotes throughout the planner.
Now, my favorite color is green and so I’m obviously a little biased, but I love the leafy aspect of the planner. The gray tones also make the planner feel very clean and calm.
My favorite thing about the planner is that is un-dated, which is pretty hard to find in planners. I travel a lot and I usually travel very lightly. When I travel for vacation, I don’t carry my planner with me. But, when I come back home, I can easily move to the next week without wasting any pages. In fact, I’ve had the planner for about a year, but I’m only on Week 31. The Weekly Power Planner is likely gonna last me another year.
Wellness Planner
The Wellness Planner, which I recently purchased, is dedicated to focusing on your own mental well-being. You start with picking a theme of the year and have monthly wellness goals that you track with self-care activities and a monthly mood tracker. There are also prompts to help you organize your life, such as “how can I better my overall Wellness next month” and “am I respecting my own boundaries as well as others?”
I love taking the time at the end of each day to mark my mood and reflect on how I felt each day. At the end of each week, you also have the opportunity to take a step back and reflect. There is something powerful about acknowledging yourself, your emotions, and your self-care.
I’ve become a lot more insightful about how I go about my daily life because of this planner and it keeps me motivated to work out, stay active, and indulge in some of my favorite self-care practices like reading with a cup of tea or coffee first thing in the morning or blogging (instead of doom-scrolling on Instagram, which I’m still working on…).
The planner has made me feel invigorated and fulfilled because I’ve accomplished something that’s ‘self-care’ each day—and can track it!
Although this is a dated book, you can buy it any time of the year and just use it through to the next year. I bought mine in February 2023, so I’ll use it until January 2024.
Money Planner
The Money Planner is useful for people who want to track their finances and have monthly goals. The planner will improve your relationship with money. While setting monthly money budgets, you’ll also have weekly, monthly, and quarterly money check-ins. I love the post-monthly check-ins, which you’ll use to review your honourable moments and what you can improve on moving forward.
Planner sizes
The Money and Wellness planners come in A4 and A5 sizes. The Weekly Power Planner comes in A5 only. I personally love the A5 size because it is small enough to fit into one of my go-to purses. So, if I go to a cafe and want to work on my agenda or wellness over a cup of coffee, I can do that.
When I travel for work or have meetings and need to take my laptop bag, it easily fits as well.
Vision Board Parties
In February, In Her Honour hosted a vision board party to help us all get organized for the year. It was such a blast—hopefully, this will be an annual occurrence. Although I had never made a vision board before, spending time with a group of gals who were focusing on their aspirations for the year ahead was inspiring. Read more about the event.
