Cape Town
Cape Town is hands down one of the most beautiful cities in the world. With rugged coastlines with beautiful beaches with the backdrop of Table Mountain, you’re sure to be stunned.
You’ll likely land at Cape Town International Airport, just 30ish minutes from the center of the city. Read the South Africa guide for airport tips and how to get a sim card here.
The best time to visit Cape Town is in the summer (November- February). Fall (March-April) is also a good time. If you visit in the winter, you may not enjoy yourself too much as it’s very rainy and dreary.

If you’re only visiting Cape Town, you may not end up going to Kruger National Park (the most famous park in South Africa). Rather head to Gondwana Game Reserve. It is 4 hours away from Cape Town.
p.s. A 2-night stay is probably all you need at a lodge to see the animals and enjoy if you’re doing a full room+board lodging option. You can also do this as part of a Garden Route road trip.
